OUR BRIEF HISTORY
The brainchild of multiple award-winning photojournalist and founder of PAWA254, Boniface Mwangi,
the idea that gave birth to the Awards started to take shape during a discussion over a cup of tea between him and the former Swiss Ambassador to Kenya, Jacques Pitteloud, a photography enthusiast and published nature photographer in his own right.
The first edition of the Awards took place in November 2013, with an impressive 1,100 submissions received in 7 categories with Thomas Mukoya emerging as the first overall winner of the event.
Want to become a Partner?
In an era where photography captures the attention of many, Kenya Photography Awards gives you the opportunity to showcase your products and services to photographers, photography lovers and the general public. In 2016, we went a step further and introduced a 1 day mini-expo as a value-add for all our partners at no extra cost. We also had plenty of benefits depending on the sponsorship category you wish to pick. Please download the document on the link below for more information.
